Basement Sweet is the solo project of 22-year-old Seth Petersen, an independent artist based out of Calgary, AB, Canada. Seth received his first guitar as a gift at the age of 7, and has been hooked ever since. After travelling Australia in 2019 with his brother, experiencing new places, people, and sounds, the desire to write and record music became urgent. Seth started Basement Sweet in 2020, aiming to blend elements of Indie Rock and Surf Rock with distinctive jangly guitar sounds inspired by the likes of Surf Curse, The Growlers, Real Estate, The Drums. Seth writes, records, mixes and masters all of his songs in his bedroom studio in the basement in order to deliver an authentic sound that is unique to his taste. Hence the name, Basement Sweet.
